(A brief note: I posted and deleted this about 10 times yesterday because I had a bit of trouble with LiveJournal cuts. The problem is fixed-- turns out I'm a dumbass. Thanks to nonelvis and laeb for their infinite patience. So, without further ado, here's the entry that was supposed to go up last night! Now, with extra textiness!)

I've finally managed to catch up on all the Sarah Jane Adventures that I've missed. The fact that the last episode was a cliffhanger is killing me because I am now in love with this show.

I was watching Eye of the Gorgon, and I noticed something...

...Sarah Jane's coat in much of the episode is a burgundy velvet frock coat, which looks an awful lot like one that the fourth Doctor used to wear. I don't know if it was an intentional homage or a happy wardrobe accident, but it warms my geeky little heart to think that it was done on purpose.

Okay, I have not been watching SJA because for some reason the concept didn't really grab me, but so many people seem to love it that I may have to, uh, acquire it after all.

(And I'll bet Sarah Jane looks hot in that coat, too.)

I'm liking it a lot more than I thought I would! The concept seemed a little silly, but my love for Sarah Jane was enough to draw me in. And I'm still blown away by how amazing Elisabeth Sladen looks!

Also, how much does it rock that she has her own action figure?

Lis Sladen must have made a deal with the devil to look as hot as she does at that age. It's remarkable.

I didn't realize that she had her own action figure, but that is awesome.

Okay, I totally pegged that jacket as one of the Third Doctor's velvet jackets. That and the fact that Sarah Jane makes all sorts of nifty gadgets in series one gave me much geeker!glee.
