Am I... Ginger?
Apr. 16th, 2008 05:19 pmI have finally taken the plunge and dyed my hair a colour that is not blonde. Boy, is it ever not blonde! It is currently a very bright coppery red. Kind of like Willow from Season three of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Only without the kickass magical powers.
It's pretty bright at the moment. My hairdresser says it will lose a lot of its intensity with the next few washings. When I got home my hair looked less Willow-esque, and more like Milla Jovovich from The Fifth Element. I've already washed it, and it does look more natural.
I've been thinking of going red since high school, but I've never had the nerve to do it. Hell, I only started getting blonde highlights when I was 27. I've always been resistant to colouring my hair, partly because of the upkeep and the possibility of massive fail, and partly because I am a big coward. But I've decided that it's time for a change. I've been blonde or blonde-ish for 32 years. Still, it's a little odd looking in the mirror, and not seeing blonde hair.
I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to take a decent self-portrait, and I just don't have the knack for it. Instead, here is a picture of Alyson Hannigan:
